Every exported claim about this person: what it says, how strong its best source is (tier 1 = original record image, 5 = unsourced lead), its review state, and the sources that carry it. Source links open the workings page for that citation.

claim:ann-lee:death:1 | death | death · after 1794 The record previously carried 1784, which its only cited source contradicts: the William Hanks / Elizabeth Hall research paper (tier 3) names Joseph's wife “Nanny” as co-executor of his will of January 1793 and has the widow “Anne Hanks” assigning land in January 1794, so she was alive in 1794 (T-RES-005 review, record error R-7). Downgraded to reconstructed and the event carries no death year, only that bound (question:hanks-branch:lifespans). | reconstructed | 3 · compiled-genealogy | downgraded |

claim:ann-lee:parent-of:1 | parent-of | parent-of William Hanks William is shown as a son of Joseph Hanks and Ann Lee in the William Hanks / Elizabeth Hall research paper, which documents the sonship with the Nelson County tax lists of 1787–1792 and Joseph's will of 8 January 1793 and names Joseph's wife as co-executor of it; no record names the mother. The claim previously cited only the reports index page (T-RES-005 review, record error R-12 / S-20). Supported: compiled research. | supported | 3 · compiled-genealogy | accepted |

claim:ann-lee:parent-of:2 | parent-of | parent-of Lucy Hanks The Lucy Hanks (Henry Sparrow) research PDF argues the parentage from the 2013–2015 mtDNA study of Joseph and Ann Lee Hanks's matrilineal descendants and states the documentary caveat that Joseph's will did not name Lucy. That PDF is now cited instead of the reports index page alone (T-RES-005 review, record error R-12 / S-20). Supported: compiled research, no record names her parents. | supported | 3 · compiled-genealogy | accepted |
|
claim:ann-lee:parent-of:3 | parent-of | parent-of Nancy Hanks Hall Wilson and Davis place Nancy Hanks Hall in the Joseph and Ann Hanks family, while the Genetic Lincoln mtDNA work matches descendants of Nancy Hall, Mary Friend and Lucy Hanks in the rare Ann Lee Hanks maternal line. Supported research: no newly inspected record image states the parentage. | supported | 3 · compiled-genealogy | accepted |

Conflicts and open questions
Question
question:paul-fleenor:parentage(open)Which original record images can independently confirm the newly indexed Fleenor-to-Hanks chain? Authenticated indexes now name Otis Fleenor and Anna Smith as Paul Theodore Fleenor's parents, Dollie Despain and John Henderson Smith as Anna's parents, Martha Beans and Milton Despain as Dollie's parents, and Mahala Hall and William Beams as Martha's parents. Wilson/Davis and Genetic Lincoln research continue the line through Nancy Hanks Hall to Joseph Hanks and Ann Lee. The old Nancy Hanks DeSpain → Dollie route is superseded, not part of this path.
Next: Open and archive the underlying Iowa record images for the four FamilySearch indexes, identify the exact 1850 Beams household schedule, and seek probate, Bible, or civil evidence naming Mahala as Nancy Hanks Hall's daughter. Until those checks are complete, publish the resulting relationship to Abraham Lincoln as likely second cousins six times removed and strongly supported research—not a fully confirmed pedigree.

Question
question:hanks-branch:lifespans(open)Which source states the birth and death years of Joseph Hanks, Ann Lee, William Hanks and Lucy Hanks? The T-RES-005 review found the only cited sources contradicting three recorded values and silent on three more: William's 1756 and 1834 (the research paper says born about 1765 and died after 1850), Ann Lee's 1784 (the widow Anne Hanks assigns land in January 1794), and Lucy's 1830 death (the research PDF says she died between 1830 and 1840); no source opened gives a birth year for Joseph or Ann Lee, so those years are no longer recorded, and Lucy's 1762 is hedged in its only source.
Next: For William, the Nelson County, Kentucky tax lists of 1787–1793 and the 1850 federal census of Macon County, Illinois, which the research paper cites but does not reproduce. For Ann Lee, the Nelson County deed of January 1794 signed by the widow Anne Hanks, and Joseph Hanks's probate file (will of 8 January 1793, executor's bond of 14 May 1793). For Lucy, the 1830 and 1840 federal censuses of Mercer and Adair counties, Kentucky, and the 1790 Mercer County marriage bond. Record a birth year for Joseph or Ann Lee only when a record or an institutional transcription states one; until then none of the withdrawn values may appear in the narrative in any form, with or without "about".
