claim:allen-james-frisby:name:1nameA.J. Frisby

Every public source opened in 2026 reads “A. J.”: the memorial at Tyler Memorial Park and Cemetery, re-opened on 2026-10-09, gives the name as initials alone and expands nothing, and both of his parents’ obituary transcriptions read the same way. Thomas N. Frisby’s manuscript says his father’s initials are not expanded. “Allen James” is therefore removed from the public name rather than treated as fact; the stable legacy ID remains allen-james-frisby for deep-link compatibility, so that form still appears in the profile URL. Conditional, and this is the condition: identifying the A. J. Frisby buried at Tyler (1908–1986) with Thomas N. Frisby’s father is a chain of name, place and generation, not a statement by any source, and no opened source names Thomas N. Frisby’s parents (question:thomas-n-frisby:parentage).

claim:allen-james-frisby:living-status:1living-statusdeceased

The Find a Grave memorial and the marker photographed on it record the death of an A. J. Frisby at Tyler in 1986 (November 6, 1986 per the page's fields). Deceased.

claim:allen-james-frisby:birth:1birthbirth · August 26, 1908

The memorial's page fields give August 26, 1908 at Tom Bean, Grayson County, and the marker photographed on the page reads “1908”. Reconstructed: a tier-3 page field with a named record check — the Texas birth index for 1908, Grayson County. No birthplace is entered (one tier-3 statement).

claim:allen-james-frisby:death:1deathdeath · November 6, 1986 · Tyler, Texas

The memorial's page fields give November 6, 1986 at Tyler, Smith County, and the marker reads “1986”. Reconstructed: a tier-3 page field with a named record check — the Texas death index for 1986 and his November 1986 Tyler obituary, neither opened.

claim:allen-james-frisby:spouse-of:1spouse-ofspouse-of Thelma Jean Karr Frisby

Thomas Newton Frisby's birth certificate names A. J. Frisby and Thelma Jean Karr as his parents, and Thomas's manuscript says they married. The record proves co-parentage but not the marriage itself, so the spouse claim remains supported rather than confirmed.

claim:allen-james-frisby:parent-of:1parent-ofparent-of Thomas Newton Frisby

Thomas Newton Frisby's Texas birth certificate names A. J. Frisby as his father, independently confirming the family testimony.

Conflicts and open questions

  • Question question:thomas-n-frisby:parentage (open)

What documentary chain connects the Saunders family to Thomas Newton Frisby? His Texas birth certificate now confirms A.J. Frisby and Thelma Jean Karr as his parents, while Tom Frisby's manuscript and family emails provide the remaining family testimony for Fay → A.J. and J.B. Saunders Jr. as Fay's brother and Thomas's great-uncle.

Next: The Thomas parentage portion is answered by Texas birth certificate K6GF-MKL. Resolve only the remaining Saunders generation reading with Easter Fay's Texas death certificate no. 86199, the 1900 Hill County and 1910/1920 Saunders census images, Joseph B. Saunders Sr.'s obituary/death record, and a full copy of Joseph Benjamin Saunders Jr.'s 1989 obituary. Do not expand A.J.'s initials or promote Saunders kinship without those records.

  • Question question:thelma-kerr-frisby:identity (open)

When did Thelma Jean Karr Frisby live, and does a marriage record name her as A. J. Frisby's wife? Her son's Texas birth certificate now names her as Thomas Newton Frisby's mother, and the 1910 census links her to Millard Eugene Karr's household.

Next: Search Smith and Grayson County marriage indexes c. 1928–1932 for FRISBY A. J. + KARR/CARR/KERR Thelma; then the Texas Death Index and Tyler cemetery records for a death date. Parentage is answered; the spouse relationship stays supported until a marriage record is read.
