claim:faye-frisby:name:1nameEaster Fay Frisby

The Sweetwater Cemetery index row and the joint marker photographed there read “Frisby, Easter Fay; 1890-1982” and “EASTER FAY”; the 1982 obituary and death-certificate index transcriptions on her memorial use the shorter form “Fay Frisby”. “Saunders” is held as a name variant, not as a structured maiden name: her obituary transcription names two brothers, J. B. and Newell Saunders, and her certificate index transcription names her father as Joseph B Saunders, but both are tier-3 transcriptions and her certificate (no. 86199) has not been opened. Family testimony reports her as Thomas N. Frisby's grandmother — the step from A. J. Frisby down to Thomas N. is still conditional — and reports a brother named J.B. Saunders; which Joseph B. Saunders that was is unsettled and is held open in conflict:saunders-generations-fay-relationship.

claim:faye-frisby:living-status:1living-statusdeceased

The Sweetwater Cemetery index row and the marker give 1890–1982 and her memorial carries a 1982 obituary transcription. Deceased.

claim:faye-frisby:birth:1birthbirth · August 17, 1890

The primary reading is the joint marker photographed on the Sweetwater Cemetery index page: “EASTER FAY AUG. 17, 1890”. The 1982 obituary transcription and the death-certificate index transcription on her Find a Grave memorial give the same date. No place is recorded: Waxahachie appears in the obituary transcription alone. Supported, not confirmed: a marker photograph and two transcriptions on tier-2 and tier-3 pages, no record image.

claim:faye-frisby:death:1deathdeath · September 9, 1982 · Sweetwater, Texas

The marker reads “SEPT. 9, 1982” and the Sweetwater Cemetery index row gives “1890-1982”; the obituary and certificate index transcriptions on her memorial agree, and Sweetwater is recorded at settlement precision. Supported, not confirmed: her Texas death certificate (no. 86199) has not been opened.

claim:faye-frisby:marriage:1marriagemarriage · October 22, 1907

Her side of the same marriage: the joint marker reads “MARRIED OCT. 22, 1907” and her obituary transcription says “she married Thomas David Frisby”, on October 17 by that transcription's reading. The day stands in open conflict (conflict:thomas-david-frisby+faye-frisby:marriage-date); no place is recorded.

claim:faye-frisby:burial:1burialburial · September 1982 · Sweetwater, Texas

The Sweetwater Cemetery index lists her among its burials and the marker stands there; the certificate index transcription on her memorial gives a burial on September 11, 1982, two days after her death, so the event is recorded as after September 9, 1982 rather than on a stated day. The sexton's record has not been opened and no plot is recorded.

claim:faye-frisby:parent-of:1parent-ofparent-of A.J. Frisby

Easter Fay's and her husband's obituary transcriptions name an A. J. Frisby among their sons, and Thomas N. Frisby's manuscript and family emails independently identify Fay as his paternal grandmother and A.J. as his father. Supported, not confirmed: the newspaper sources are transcriptions, the Tyler A. J. identity is an evidence-chain match, and no civil record names the parent-child relationship.

Conflicts and open questions

  • Conflict conflict:thomas-david-frisby+faye-frisby:marriage-date (open)

The joint Frisby marker at Sweetwater reads “MARRIED OCT. 22, 1907”, and the inscription fields of both Find a Grave memorials agree; the 1982 obituary transcription on Easter Fay's memorial says she married Thomas David Frisby on October 17, 1907 at Sherman. The accepted claims carry the marker's October 22 at `supported`; the October 17 reading is held unaccepted and is not refuted. The Grayson County marriage record of October 1907 decides it. Nothing is asserted about the place.

  • Question question:thomas-n-frisby:parentage (open)

What documentary chain connects the Saunders family to Thomas Newton Frisby? His Texas birth certificate now confirms A.J. Frisby and Thelma Jean Karr as his parents, while Tom Frisby's manuscript and family emails provide the remaining family testimony for Fay → A.J. and J.B. Saunders Jr. as Fay's brother and Thomas's great-uncle.

Next: The Thomas parentage portion is answered by Texas birth certificate K6GF-MKL. Resolve only the remaining Saunders generation reading with Easter Fay's Texas death certificate no. 86199, the 1900 Hill County and 1910/1920 Saunders census images, Joseph B. Saunders Sr.'s obituary/death record, and a full copy of Joseph Benjamin Saunders Jr.'s 1989 obituary. Do not expand A.J.'s initials or promote Saunders kinship without those records.

  • Question question:faye-frisby:saunders-generation (open)

Which Joseph B. Saunders was Easter Fay Frisby's brother: Joseph B. Saunders Sr. (1861–1933), as the family reports, or Joseph Benjamin Saunders Jr. (1901–1989), as her 1982 obituary and his memorial read — and was Sr. therefore her father? This question exists so that the dataset asks it instead of assuming an answer (conflict:saunders-generations-fay-relationship).

Next: Easter Fay's Texas death certificate no. 86199 (1982), which states her parents at tier 2 and is the single most decisive record on this line; the 1900 census of Hill County, Texas and the 1910 and 1920 census of Tulsa and Creek County, Oklahoma for the Saunders household as images, not name indexes (Fay aged 9 in 1900; a “J B” aged 9 in the 1910 household a contributor transcribes); Joseph B. Saunders Sr.'s own obituary and Oklahoma death record (1933, Creek County) for his children and surviving siblings; Joseph Benjamin Saunders Jr.'s 1989 obituary in a copy that carries the survivors the Find a Grave transcription omits; and Texas and Oklahoma marriage, land and probate records for Joseph B. Saunders and Irene (McQuatters) Saunders, which would tie or untie “McQuatters” from “Irene Imogene”. None of these promotes any kinship down to Thomas N. Frisby, which needs the record named in question:thomas-n-frisby:parentage.
