claim:jb-saunders:name:1 | name | Joseph Benjamin “J.B.” Saunders Jr. The Oklahoma Hall of Fame profile states the name and the suffix directly: “Joseph Benjamin Saunders, Jr.” (inducted 1974). The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum profile, re-opened on 2026-10-09, prints “Joseph Benjamin Saunders, Inducted in 1979, Texas, 1901-1989” with no suffix, so only one of the two institutional sources carries it. Anything finer comes from the obituary transcription on his Find a Grave memorial, the only text of that obituary anyone on this project has read: The Oklahoman’s own page is paywalled and unread, so its citation carries no URL. Thomas N. Frisby’s family emails identify Jr. as Easter Fay Frisby’s brother and Thomas’s great-uncle; that generation assignment is family-reported and contested (conflict:saunders-generations-fay-relationship), and no kinship to the Frisby line is asserted here. Neither institutional profile names a sister or any Frisby. | confirmed | 2 · official-transcript | accepted |

claim:jb-saunders:living-status:1 | living-status | deceased Both tier-2 institutional profiles give “1901-1989” and state that he died; the obituary transcription on his memorial reports the death, and The Oklahoman carried an obituary on November 28, 1989 per that same transcription (the newspaper's page is paywalled and unread, so its citation carries no URL). Deceased. | confirmed | 2 · official-transcript | accepted |

claim:jb-saunders:birth:1 | birth | birth · July 25, 1901 · Hillsboro, Texas Both tier-2 institutional profiles give the year 1901. The day and the place come from the obituary transcription on his Find a Grave memorial — “Born Joseph Benjamin Saunders on July 25, 1901, in Hillsboro,Texas” — which is tier 3, so the claim now carrying that finer value is supported rather than confirmed; the year alone is what the profiles state. No birth record has been opened. | supported | 2 · official-transcript | accepted |
|
claim:jb-saunders:death:1 | death | death · November 26, 1989 · Houston, Texas Both tier-2 institutional profiles give the year 1989. The day and the place come from the obituary transcription and page fields on his Find a Grave memorial — “died Sunday in Houston. He was 88”, with November 26, 1989, Houston, Harris County in the fields; November 26, 1989 was a Sunday. That is tier 3, so the claim carrying the finer value is supported rather than confirmed. The same transcription records that The Oklahoman carried the obituary on November 28, 1989; the newspaper's own page is paywalled and unread, so its citation carries no URL. | supported | 2 · official-transcript | accepted |

claim:jb-saunders:sibling-of:1 | sibling-of | sibling-of Easter Fay Frisby Thomas N. Frisby's family emails identify Joseph Benjamin Saunders Jr. as Easter Fay's brother and Thomas's great-uncle. The relationship is family-reported and remains conditional pending Fay's death certificate, census images or another record naming the siblings. claim:jb-saunders:associated-with:1 | associated-with | associated-with Tom Saunders (lead) No reviewed source connects Tom Saunders to J.B. Saunders or to Easter Fay Frisby; he is retained off-graph as a research lead only. | needs-verification | 4 · family-testimony | accepted |
Conflicts and open questions
Conflict
conflict:saunders-generations-fay-relationship(open)Three readings of the Saunders generations stand on this line and none is accepted. (A) The site owner's testimony of October 8, 2026 identifies Joseph B. Saunders Sr. (1861–1933) as Easter Fay Frisby's brother and Thomas N. Frisby's great-uncle, and his son Joseph Benjamin Saunders Jr. (1901–1989) as Thomas's cousin; it is carried by a sibling claim held at conditional with review "deferred", so that reading reaches no public read model and this description is the only place a public reader can see it. (B) Thomas N. Frisby's family manuscript and emails read the generations the other way — Jr. as Easter Fay's brother and Thomas's great-uncle, Sr. as the father of both — and are carried by claim:jb-saunders:sibling-of:1 and claim:joseph-b-saunders-sr:parent-of:2, the two conditional claims this ledger exports. (A) and (B) are both tier-4 family testimony from different family members, and they contradict each other. (C) The documentary transcriptions inspected on 2026-10-08 and re-opened on 2026-10-09 agree with (B) rather than with (A): Easter Fay's 1982 obituary transcription names a surviving brother “J. B. Saunders of Houston” while Sr. died in 1933 and Jr. died at Houston in 1989; her death-certificate index transcription names her father Joseph B Saunders; and all four siblings her obituary names appear in Sr.'s own list of children on his memorial. That reading is held as a second, unaccepted candidate claim, entered at needs-verification and deferred so this ledger can show the documentary side without presenting it as settled. But (C) is tier-3 contributor-maintained compilation throughout and proves nothing by itself: Easter Fay is not listed among Sr.'s children, no Frisby of any kind appears anywhere on either Saunders memorial, “McQuatters” is on neither, the two tier-2 institutional profiles of Jr. name no sister and no Frisby, and her certificate (no. 86199) and every census image remain unopened. So (C) does not refute (A). Easter Fay's Texas death certificate no. 86199, a census image of the Saunders household naming her, or Joseph B. Saunders Sr.'s own 1933 obituary — the one document that could name his surviving siblings — decides it. The disagreement between the owner's own October 2026 answer and the reading the records now export is an open question for the owner (see the Frisby research packet, conflicts-and-questions.md section H). While this conflict stands, no Saunders kinship on this line may reach confirmed, and none may be promoted, reversed or deleted in either direction.

Question
question:thomas-n-frisby:parentage(open)What documentary chain connects the Saunders family to Thomas Newton Frisby? His Texas birth certificate now confirms A.J. Frisby and Thelma Jean Karr as his parents, while Tom Frisby's manuscript and family emails provide the remaining family testimony for Fay → A.J. and J.B. Saunders Jr. as Fay's brother and Thomas's great-uncle.
Next: The Thomas parentage portion is answered by Texas birth certificate K6GF-MKL. Resolve only the remaining Saunders generation reading with Easter Fay's Texas death certificate no. 86199, the 1900 Hill County and 1910/1920 Saunders census images, Joseph B. Saunders Sr.'s obituary/death record, and a full copy of Joseph Benjamin Saunders Jr.'s 1989 obituary. Do not expand A.J.'s initials or promote Saunders kinship without those records.

Question
question:faye-frisby:saunders-generation(open)Which Joseph B. Saunders was Easter Fay Frisby's brother: Joseph B. Saunders Sr. (1861–1933), as the family reports, or Joseph Benjamin Saunders Jr. (1901–1989), as her 1982 obituary and his memorial read — and was Sr. therefore her father? This question exists so that the dataset asks it instead of assuming an answer (conflict:saunders-generations-fay-relationship).
Next: Easter Fay's Texas death certificate no. 86199 (1982), which states her parents at tier 2 and is the single most decisive record on this line; the 1900 census of Hill County, Texas and the 1910 and 1920 census of Tulsa and Creek County, Oklahoma for the Saunders household as images, not name indexes (Fay aged 9 in 1900; a “J B” aged 9 in the 1910 household a contributor transcribes); Joseph B. Saunders Sr.'s own obituary and Oklahoma death record (1933, Creek County) for his children and surviving siblings; Joseph Benjamin Saunders Jr.'s 1989 obituary in a copy that carries the survivors the Find a Grave transcription omits; and Texas and Oklahoma marriage, land and probate records for Joseph B. Saunders and Irene (McQuatters) Saunders, which would tie or untie “McQuatters” from “Irene Imogene”. None of these promotes any kinship down to Thomas N. Frisby, which needs the record named in question:thomas-n-frisby:parentage.
